Cow vs. Mustang
So I'm coming back from a buddies house and of all things to be in the middle of a pitch black road is a cow. The thing came out of the middle of no where. I hit it at about 45-50 MPH. Front end of the car is destroyed, couldn't really get a good look at the motor cause the hood was bent up. Curious to know if anyone has had an accident similar to this one and what insurance did. I'm hoping it gets totaled, my luck they won't total it though. I had just bought a set of Kooks long tubes to put on it too
never got to put them on. And in case you're wondering... Cow-1 Mustang-0

I cant imagine it being any different than hitting a deer insurance wise anyway did you talk to the owner of the cow? Im sure that livestock is supposed to be fenced up. The owner of the cow may be liable and his insurance may have to pay the damages.

I've seen car get totaled by insurance companies for a deer. I'm guessing it's going to get totaled. If the front is that bad I'm sure there is some frame/structural damage. Hold onto the Kooks as you can put them on the replacement Pony. I hope it works out in your favor. Make sure to update us.
How does a cow "come out of no where"? LOL I've never seen one even moooooove....
Hope you get your car fixed and you're OK. Not sure about making a claim against the cow though....you're supposed to be in control of your car, cow or no cow...... I mean if it was a person.... just sayin.....

Trying to figure out how to put pics up? I just started the forums a couple months ago. I found the insert image but it wants me to put in a URL. Is that how you're suppose to do it. In the state of Alabama there is no law about the owner of livestock having to cover the charges of the damage done, and the guy at the body shop said that it was most likely fixable. Time to do some cosmetic work to it if that's the case. New grille, hood, lights, etc. They will charge for OEM parts, most of the time aftermarket parts are cheaper
