Default Coyote engine scored cylinder wall

I had low compression on #8, Ford voided the warranty. Debating on whether to try to sell complete or part out and wondering what it is actually worth?? Once I get enough posts I will have it listed on here with pictures.

That sucks man.. honestly wouldn't know what to value the car... But I can't imagine you getting very much because those engines are expensive...

Are you asking how much your engine is worth or the whole car? If engine, I would guess the long block could fetch $2000-2500 since needs work, but would be complete except the accessory devices (e.g. heads, A/C, alternator, etc.) and PCM... if you strip it to keep the heads (which should be good still) I would guess about a grand. New motors can be had for $6000-7000 plus installation, so it would be very price competitive.

Sorry this happened to you... What tune where you running and how long did it take FoMoCo to officially void your warranty? What are your plans for the ride now? I see you have "aluminator" in your sig. Did you get that already or did you order it already? Was that a long block with the heads installed already?

Don

Regarding the engine, not the car.

Can you have it re-sleeved? Cost effective?

Ahh, I got you now.. So you already bought another block? Assuming that you bought the aluminator in your sig.. what is left from the old one? Just the short block?

That blows man. I am curious also on the process and how long it took. I am surprised to see it on a 2012...usually you hear of these things happening to the 2011's. How aggressive was the tune?
