Default Modding the Driver Infor Screen

I have a 2013 GT Premium. Has the cool multicolor display in between the instrument dials...does all kinds of neat and interesting things..

How is it that with all the different data that it provides, THERE IS NOT ONE SETTING TO DISPLAY SPEED?

It can tell me Lat G's, 0-60, 1/4 mile time, gas mileage (instant and average), but can't tell me how fast I'm going?

This Mustang has a lot of nice trim that puts its build above my Camaro (yes, I have one of them, too), but the center digital speedo or a HUD is the one thing that was overlooked...

Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to get the readout...but I'm no programmer or hacker.

If you haven't noticed, that large round thing to the left of the display is for that. You need two indicators?

I DO say that with the arrangement of the numbers on the speedo, reading it isn't as easy as it should be.

Don't know about '13 but on '11-12 you can hold the right two info buttons down on startup and it'll enter, "engineering test mode". Cycling through the available data will get you a digital speedo.

Actually, I noticed exactly what you did, that reading that large round thing to the left is not a simple glance like it is in most cars. In my line of work, more is always better...two is one and one is none...

I'll have to give that a try...but can it be possible to get that to start in that mode rather than having to select it at startup each time?

Nope, I don't think that'd be very easy, as it's probably at least firmwared into the cluster operation. You'd still have to cycle through the menu to get speed, anyway.

The other thing, for the smart asses out there, is the big round thing isn't totally accurate, while the input from the digital readout is right on the money, according to my testing.
