Question Help me choose: O/R X or LT and O/R X

Hey, need some help making a decision. I want to mod my exhaust and I can't decide whether to save some $$$ and go with just an O/R X pipe (JBA) or pony up and get LT's with the O/R X (ARH).

I know what I really want is the LT's just because I love headers. But, all that extra cash doesn't add a whole lot of power based on what I've read. The biggest gains seem to come from the O/R X itself. So, I want to spend my money wisely. As I understand it, the O/R X will add about 15RWHP whereas the LT's plus the X add around 25-30RWHP. Some real life examples of power gained from each would be helpful.

My car is 50% DD and 50% garage queen. I plan to do HPDE's in the future. That's about the extent of my plans. The only performance mods I have so far are a CAI/tune and some suspension upgrades. Future mods won't go much farther than maybe a BOSS 302 intake.

Wow, 71 views and no replies. I will simplify my question.

Is it accurate that an O/R X will add about 15RWHP whereas LT's plus an O/R X will add about 25-30HP?

I say LT's and or xpipe. Some say its not worth it, but as mods increase, they compliment each other, so its not as simple to say it only adds 5 hp or whatever. Its the whole package and how the work with each other. It all adds up little by little. I love my new headers.

I see you have Roush mufflers, it will be crazy loud with headers and or xpipe. It sounds awesome, but might be too loud for ya. Im unsure if I am gonna change my mufflers yet. Right now, Im digging it.

Yeah, I realize that the Roush AB could become very loud when I upgrade the exhaust. If it becomes too loud I will switch to the GT500 AB. I am about to move in to a new house in a very rural area. So, I'm not too worried about how loud it will be.

I've got Kooks headers, O/R X and SLP loudmouths and its crazy loud. People tell me all the time they love the sound of the exhaust even with it being so loud, and the drone can be annoying at 60 MPH in 6th gear (running 3.73 gears) but it's what I like. I am thinking about chaing to the Roush AB, just waiting a bit to do it. If I were to replace my 5.0 with a newer one, I would install the headers again. Not sure if this helps, but I really enjoy them.

Run a long tube header, the extra cash now is worth it and it will make the car perform better at all RPM's

Don't know what my actual gains were because I didn't dyno before and after. I got ARH with O/R X and full stainless works exhaust and I would definitely recommend it. I love it and the power is night and day difference. Go for it! Get the long tubes!

LT headers are barely louder than an axle back at idle or cruising. I say go for it if you don't care about warranty. Mine roar during WOT and I get people asking me all the time how I got it to sound like that.
