OP. Did you ever get your issues sorted out? Guess you found out the hard way that you need a tune to run an off road pipe. There have been issues of bad pump gas going around also.

 

Why is it you must have a specific tune to run an O/R midpipe. I am not challenging your statement saying one DOESN'T need one. I am stating you won't see the appropriate gains. It shouldn't hurt to run without a tune but that Is how I feel and probably am wrong, just want the science to back it up please.

I'm sure you will see gains and the car will run, with a CEL on of course and ****ty surging idle. I would worry about running to rich and even more worried about running lean, which is the reason for the blown #8 issues. With a tune you can shut off the rear O2 sensors and stabilize the proper A/F ratios and fuel trims. Point is, If you are going to mod your car, make sure it is tuned properly for the mod installed.

 

Because 2011+ cars have a new feature called Cat Overtemp Protection that must be addressed with a tune or the car will continue to dump fuel to cool the cats which are no longer present.
