I've gotten 28ish a couple times cruising at 70mph, got 25mpg the other day driving 350 miles, and today I got 22mpg averaging 85mph over a 140 mile trip (hit 130mph a couple times and was regularly above 100mph). Also, last tank I got 22.5mpg with two runs to the governor (the rest of the tank was about 80 miles cruising at 70mph and 160 miles city driving). Can't complain about that at all

Purely around town is another story though...I drive aggressively and get about 12-14mpg

Are we talking imperial or US gallons? 40 oz in an imp gal vs 32 in a US gal.

Personally I'm talking US gallons b/c, despite how much I hate how our units of measure are different than 98% of the world, that's what we use where I'm from. Also, I think there are 128 ounces US in a US gallon, and somewhere around 150 ounces US in an Imperial gallon

This fuel mileage crap is getting old. No one buys the GT for fuel mileage.

Make it loud, bolt-on a little HP, fix the suspension, and drive the **** out of it! Enjoy having a permanent smile on your face when you're driving your Mustang GT properly.

Im going for the horsepower numbers off of the american muscle bama tune and the jlt intake is similar to the air raid that they used on their 2013 test car. I will also have gt 500 catback exhaust and the throttlebody over and above the american muscle build. Which should reach my goal of 400 rwhp.
Do what you want, it's your car, but you have been warned. You get what you pay for.

Remember the golden triangle, Cheap, Fast, Reliable. You can only get two and Cheap and Reliable exclude each other.

There are a few examples of people on the forum that have made the mistake of installing an aftermarket TB that is not FRPP (after similar warnings) and later come on to complain about problems they are having.

My gauge never goes up 20 even with all my highway driving, so I must be driving it right.

Definitely not a major factor in my purchase, but a ver nice bonus to be getting 26-28mpg on the highway because, despite what everyone on here seems to believe, spending money on gas isn't fun, even if it is an extremely fun car to drive flat out. That being said, I traded a '13 Mazda CX5 that was rated at 31mpg highway (and we never got over 29mpg in it mileage was a factor in buying that, since we traded a 2010 F150 supercrew for it) for the Mustang and mileage wasn't a concern with the trade in (after my insurance and monthly payment decrease, we pay about the same a month with the much worse city mileage).

Some people might actually buy the Mustang over a Camaro, Challenger, etc. because it gets better fuel economy though.
