I just picked up my 2014 Gt about a week ago, love it! I noticed a rectangular rubber or plastic piece about 1/2" in diameter on the dash near the center of the windshield. Does anyone know what it is?

Sounds like your are describing the sensor for the auto headlights, a picture would help.

Description sounds like the headlight/dash dimmer sensor. Put a piece of paper over it and you should see your lights come on if you are set for automatic headlights on your switch, or the dash lights will come on.
