I run 1 7/8 longtubes and 3" exhaust all the way back and I had gains in the mid range and up top.

Stainless Works long tubes with their cat back system, intake and dyno tune =

the power starts to come on at 1500 rpm and just keeps going.

That's a really low torque number, are you running cats? I've got the same long tubes with gt500s and netted 27 more lb ft and only 5 hp more with a dyno tune and a no tune CAI.

Hi Vega17,

Glad to hear you swapped out your factory mufflers for our ProXS mufflers; they work great for a wide range of vehicles, your Mustang included! You don’t necessarily need to have a full 3” exhaust system to have your Mustang sound and perform the way you’d like it to. But dyno tuning and planned future mods should be part of the discussion.

Finding the right exhaust setup is dependent upon your project goals with your Mustang. If you’re chasing peak horse power, long tube headers, a full dual 3” exhaust, and a new dyno tune will get you very close. However, you might lose some down low torque if you just change into a full 3” exhaust without the proper supporting mods (long tubes, tune, and/or forced induction). Does your vehicle spend most of its time on the street, or are you building it into a track vehicle? Please let me know what your goals are, and I’ll do my best to help you achieve the optimal exhaust setup.
