Default Check Fuel Fill Inlet Help!

I let my son fuel the car yesterday and I noticed immediately that the miles left on that tank only went up to about 275.... I knew that wasn't right, since it usually goes up over 300 when I fill up.

This morning the Check Fuel Fill Inlet Alert Popped Up!

What does that mean?

you have the "capless" fuel filler, and it sounds like the flap may not be sealing. Ford vehicles tend to have a separate warning for a loose gas cap/flap instead of just turning on the "check engine" light.

Yes. This is capless. Car runs perfectly fine. Mileage and then that Alert. I hope it is nothing. Thank you for your response!

Keep calm and find the little funnel that is in the spare tire well for adding fuel from a can to the tank. Poke it down the fill hole a few times and then see if the light goes out.

All Mustangs 11-14 are capless cars, btw.
