1st time posting, purchased a 2014 Mustang GT Conv Manual with 50k miles. Purchased it sight unseen as is.
Has been in failsafe mode since i 1st started it with 2 recurrent codes u0401 and u0256. No check engine light. Car starts, idles, and accelerates full power with no issues. Middle console area physical buttons don't work but navigation screen does.
I have checked battery, pcm connections/grounds, reset all modules using Forscan and still am in failsafe mode. I have monitored all gauges while driving and all of them are within normal range.
Not sure where else to troubleshoot to get it out of failsafe mode.
Front bumper looks repainted. Have you checked the VIN to see if the title is a rebuild or salvage?
I'd suggest the dealer. One or two hours of diagnostic to know what is wrong with the car vs an uncertain cost of your time, money (Parts), and patience. Could be as simple as the PCM was replaced and not programmed correctly to as bad as a harness needs replacing. You can decide if you're going to fix it or not after they diagnosis it and before they fix it, or you can let them fix it.
