If you are referring to something such as this:

It is actually a spoiler not a wing--and I don't care what the twips selling them call it.

Spoilers disrupt/breakup laminar flow and reduce drag by creating a turbulent boundary layer which behaves as "ball-bearings" for the air flow over the turbulent boundary; by reducing the characteristic drag of laminar flows.

Wings OTH, if effective, create gobs of drag which they convert into downward force (in the case of land vehicles) to improve traction and therefore handling. The more effective they are at creating downforce the more drag they generate.

The wings on a Formula 1 race car generate incredible amounts of drag because they generate equally incredible amounts of downforce--4 to 5 times the weight of the vehicle.

Getting back to your "roof wing", and despite my mother always telling me "If you cannot say something nice, say nothing."--yuk...

Cheap and Carbon Fiber don't go together. If you want a quality product (esp with CF), you're gonna have to pay.

On a side note, why did a thread about a 2004 GT get moved from that section to the S197 section???

That's the only section on the forum that would know anything about putting such a thing on a Mustang GT. I would have asked them too.
