pops if i just have it on accessory or when engine is on, and only when i take it out of standbye mode and select cd or tuner which then its sending a signal to the speakers.

as much as i like the mach 460 sound system i think i might get a whole new setup for the speakers in the future. its cheap for me with employee discounts and i dont have to worry about gettting a million n one adaptors to get things to work

According to other posts I've read here, that's from sending a 12v turn on signal to the factory amps when they're expecting 5v. The solution is to put in a 5v voltage regulator which I happen to be soldering up right now. If the weather doesn't suck again this weekend, I hope to have this thing installed Saturday and will have some photos. As far as I know, it doesn't hurt anything except for the annoying sound. The voltage regulator plus a small circuit board to mount it was about $3 at Radio Shack.
