pop
The pop is from the inrush current of the lights turning on. There are two reasons you get it. The first being that the ground on the deck or the amp has a resitance to it. Meaning not a true ground. The second reason is that the headlights are pulling there current off the same power distribution point as the deck causing a voltage brownout temperarily. You should be able to determine this if it only pops when the light are turned on and not anything else. The only way I can think of to fix this is find an alternate power supply for the deck. Even run a new wire strait to a common source.
If you really want a clean system for moderate cost, use the kicker accomodations program for your amps, wiring and sub(s) and use the Harman International (they own Infinity) accomodations for your front and back speakers. I put together an unbelievable system for around $2000 using CC's accomodation programs and employee pricing (retail of the system is closer to $4000) ...... I used to work at Circuit if you couldnt tell.
My system:
Infinity Kappa Perfect 5.1 Components for the Front
Infinty Kappa 5x7 3-ways for the rear deck
Kicker 350.4 4 ch amp powering them
Kicker 10" L7 Sub for the bass (leaves a little trunk room)
Kicker 600.1 Mono sub amp powering the L7
Tsunami 2 Farad Capacitor w/ Distribution Block (just buy with employee pricing)
Kenwood KVT-715DVD In Dash 7" touch screen monitor w/DVD + MP3 (not from CCity though)
