Default Which sub setup?

Im looking for a small sub setup for my car. I want about a 50/50 balance in my system between sound quality, and keeping it lightweight. I know thats sorta an oxi-moron when your talking subs, but Im willing to sacrafice a little weight for more bass.
So what Id like to know is, what would give me more bass/weight value, a single like 8" sub with an external amp, or one of those tube subwoofers? I know its worded oddly, but bare with me.

Thanks alot.

Hey man if you want something that is aweomse, has great SQ and gets suprisingly loud with hardly any weight, check these out http://edesignaudio.com/product.php?cid=16&cur=USD i understand u will look and be like a 6.5' subwoofer? haha, but its not like that, look at the video on there of the excursion or check this video out, two of those things and a good 300d amp and that thing will out perform and single 8 or tube enclosure you can buy and its still cheaper then a 8 or tube http://realmofexcursion.com/videos/E...ns/eu700.4.wmv and you wont need that huge box or anything that is just how that guy chose to set them up

i wouldnt suggest a 6.5 inch woofer you will blow that up quick if you listen to heavy bass you might just want to go to a 10 or atleast 2 8's. www.reaudio.com, www.ddaudio.com here is some sites to look at

ya iw ould go with 2 re re8s and an amp that does about 500 watts at 1 or 4 ohms. and then make a ported box for them. the re8s only weigh like 8 pounds each.

i doubt that very much because my 3 eu700s with 150rms to each are louder then two RE8s, i would know. i own them both, and i usually run 400rms to each of my eu700s and all i listen to is rap.... they come with a 3 year warranty, so if you blow them get new ones for free

ED is the worst for warranting subs. i bet if you blow them itll end up being your fault and you wont get them fixed. also i call BS on those beating the REs if they did they where in the wrong box or something.
