you guys aren't referring to a remote start/car alarm that i don't have are you? i had circuit city hook everything up. i got some great news too. most of the people at the car audio place was fired and nobody was there right now. i thought it was funny when i'd call and hit option 2 for car audio installation and it just reset the menu every time. i guess they finally got caught red handed stealing the crap they install. i'm going to go for a ride tonight and have my gf look at the amp while i drive.

ok. had my gf watch the light on my amp. when i'm stopped, it's lit up. as soon as i start moving, the light goes off, as does that wonderful bass. someone said something about noise cancellation? i've never heard of it, but he says unless it's disabled, it'll cut power to the amp or something when i start moving.

i'm hoping it's something really simple and the amp isn't actually messed up. it's obviously getting power and it works fantastic when i'm sitting idle. something is being fed to it when the car starts moving that just kicks it off. anyone have any ideas where i should start looking first? going to start messing with it tomorrow morning... afternoon... when i wake up.

Start at the battery, and work your way back. Maybe replace the RCA'S...see what happens, that would probobly be the easiet solution.

edit: I bet it is your rca's now that I think of it, something similiar to this happened to me...but it would cut out everynow and then, not always...

Just a suggestion, Hook a VOM up to teh power and ground connection, drive, see if you are loosing actual power. then hook it up to the remote turn on and ground to see if you are loosing that. This will allow you to determine which thing you are losing. You stated that it is lit up at a stop and not when moving, this tells me the amp is losing either power, ground, or remote turn on. I would think it is your RCA's only if the power stays on to the amp and you are losing sound at that point.

heres the deal you are loosing power to yu remote amp wire as soon as u start moving not uncommon with a amatuer install i actually see it a good bit. Wat u need to do is where ever u have hooked the remote power wire to a 12 volt source u need to find a alternate source making sure that where ever you decide to hook it to only has power when the car is running and it has power ALL the ime the car is running where u have it hooked o now has power while the car is running but while its sitting still like a brake light only has power when you are on the brakes (stopped or slowing down) hope this helps as i am sure this is the prob if you wanna check to be sure this is the prob before u try to relocate a power source unhook the remote wire and run a wire straight from the battery positive terminal and to the remote hook up on the amp and drive the car around i bet youll have bass and again i hope this helps ya...
