My Interior...Opinions?
I had thought about going that route but 1. I like the look of the Kenwood full face double din unit. and 2. I dont want the screen up infront of my heater controls.
I wonder how hard it would be to swap out the brackets in teh dash to eliminate the issue.

Yeah I have seem em' I just didnt pay too much attention at the time. I am pretty happy with my current set up, but as they say, a project is never done as long as you continue to make money.
Dude i have to say i love how this looks.
This is the direction i want to take the interiror of my 02 gt
Just frustrated at trying to find a good shop to help with the work ( i will set somthing on fire if i do it myself)
and then where to start.
any suggestions would be welcome.
my first inclination was to go with a new head. but i was told if i do then i will run into troubles with the mach system.
then i was going add subs but i know they will sound like crap running off the stock head.
i am frustrated at this point

I was dying to put a Kenwood ddx-7015 in my stang when i first saw them. But got scared when reading on the net about all the "mach 460 problems", ya know with aftermarket headunits and whatnot. Im here to tell you now....DONT BE SCARED..its really easy and simple. As far as the double din fit. All i did was put the kenwood mounting sleeve into the space..folded the tabs to secure it..and at this point theres a .25 of an inch gap around the harness...slid it in..placed some strips of electric tape on the sides (vertical) and placed the trim ring on. Ghetto yes i know, but you really cant tell the gap is very small. Then proceed to place the vent panel back in place. And voila it looks good. As far as the wiring harness..i just got the metra 70-5519 wiring harness. You can get them here.. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshow...number=265-790 . So yes..it is possible to fit one of these in yours. I promise
Thanks for the compliments guys, I guess ill stick around these forums for quite a while now.

Dont listen to the mach 460 problems...I did..got scared..then realised that it wasnt hard at all. For me anyway.
What about under car neons...I had them on for awhile, but after so many tickets I was forced to take them off or probably end up broke. The police in my town aren't too fond of them, and not to sound hot headed, once I put them on, other high schoolers followed, and all of a sudden, the police had something that they could pick you up for, make lots of money, and the amount of kids were high enough that it was a never ending fountain of income for them. I still have the holes drilled, and I still have the neons hanging up, so maybe one of these days when the fad kinda falls here and the police go back to picking up speeders and drinkers instead of kids making their cars have a different style of what they like then I'll put em back on.
As far as modding the console, my friend bought an 01 double-DIN dash for his 00, which is exactly like mine except red. Anyways, he believes that he can put that in with a little trimming and work, then he'll take all of his fog lights/underglow/traction control switches to the beneath part where there are 3 holes. He hasn't measured any of this out, nor has he ever asked anyone or anything, so this is experimental. Hopefully it works. As for me, I have a different route I'm going. Once I get my car back to the shape it once was and redo the body, fix the door windows and locks, I have this idea about the ceiling. I was driving a mini van at work, an Olds Sillouhette and looked up and it has that whole little screen up there with MPG, Distance travelled, Directions, all that cool stuff, and then it continues out and there are pockets for garage door openers and the such, as well as a nifty sun glasses holder. I want to take one of those, cut into the roof, wire it up so it works and is operable, and then use that to put a fold down DVD player for the rear seats, house a radar detector, I think it would look cool. Although I'm positive it will require a bit of work...or a lot. Maybe I'll start another thread about that.

can we get something stickied on transplanting a 01 and up DD dash into the 94-00 cars. i have been wanting to do this for a LONG time. it CAN be done. a guy in modified mustangs a few issues ago had a 95 Cobra R that he transplanted the 02 trim piece and factory 6 CD Mach 460 HU into..just connected it to the older 460. i don't have the money for the DD navi right now but i mainly want it because i want to get an external EQ and mount it in the same spot as my HU...instead of separate in the lower pocket where the CD player used to be...nice set-up btw...i usually don't like all the contrasting colors but your kenwood and the blue and red gauges match and then the rest of the greens match...i don't really like the neons (inside or out) but hey it's all goodif YOU do...welcome to MF
