Default which way should subs face?

I'm building a box for my 06 and was wondering if the speakers should fire towards the back or put them right behind the back seat firing forward? Any thoughts on this?

fire them towards the back of the car makes it louder gives the sound waves somthing to bounce off of which makes it a deeper sounding bass!!

Yep have them as far back in your trunk as possible facing toward the back of your car.

altho i agree with pointing them backwards, i don't EXACTLY agree with your statement. What makes a rear firing box sound louder is that a typical bass wave needs like 60 feet to fully develop and rear firing gives the wave more distance to develop. it really doesn't have anything to do with bouncing at all.

In a gerneral rule, a ported box will face back and a sealed box will face forward. I all has to do with phase angle of your sound waves. If you system has phase adjustments, you can adjust multiple setups. Keep in mind though a rear facing sub box will not sound as clean as a forward do to the fact of the phase shifts from multiple angle of refractions.
