How good are the Alpine type X series...(SWX-1042D - Alpine 10" Type X Subwoofer) I've never seen them in stores not even audio express.... Is that their competition series woofer? If it got just one of those...a ten inch what amp would you guys recomend? Will it hit hard enough to where I can feel it and sound clear..(I like to feel the bass I'm more SQ but I still like to feel it!) Any help/ opinion is welcomed and appreciated thanks !

the type x is alpine's SQ driver. the type r htis very hard properly boxed. one 10" type x will probably not give you what your looking for. i would go with at least 1 12 or 2 10's if thats possible. any good 1000 watt amp@2 ohm will match up good with the type x.

So going with the type R's is a good "investment"? I'm going to go with the type R components up front...i have an Alpine deck CDA-9847. should I get an alpine amp too, i guess my question is are they good quality? One more odd question but in the coupe is there a spot for speakers in the same place as the convertables? and will the convertable pannels fit in the coupe.. the reason i ask is so I can make my system an 8 speaker system with midbass in the side panels and co-ax in the deck..is that a good idea or would it be bad imaging? it's just something i thought of i guess and would like feed back... thanks guys!

i have never been a fan of alpine amps/cdplayers but they have made decent subs the type r&x. RE is a great choice for subs too. amps i like arc audio zapco zed audio and others it just depends on how much you want to spend and how good of one you want.
