Hi...I'm in Bemidji MN and have a manual 5-speed, 4.0...I just got my keyless entry/remote starter installed PROFESSIONALLY at a place here in town...for it to work, the car must be in neutral with the emergency brake on...also, there is an on/off switch for anyone working under the hood to prevent accidental start up/take off

CompuStar is a great alarm system.
It is a full 2 way unit with an LCD remote that will indicate to you if the car has started, if it's locked, trunk open etc etc etc.

The alarm itself is manual friendly, requiring you to go through a process everytime you stop the car to "prep" it for it's next start.
Basically, all you do is stop the car and pull the Ebrake making sure to leave the car in neutral. You then remove the key, but the car doesn't stop running. The engine shuts off only after you leave the vehicle and close the door. Once you close the door, the engine shuts and is "ready" for it's remote start.

Keep in mind that if you re-open the door or trunk anytime after this procedure and before the remote start, you'll have to repeat the sequence again to prep it.

I myself am removing the older alarm, the 2W900FMR sistem out of my old car, and transplanting it into my new 05 GT

2006v6MN That still does not prevent the car from taking off in gear. All you will have to do is leave it in gear once.

Treatz, that is the only remote start that I heard of that will be used on a manual from what I gather. Also, if you shock sensor is set off during that time it wil not remote start eather.

it is impossible with the alarm i mentioned to leave it in gear, because this would negate that "ready process" i described earlyer..

For example:
Let's say you forget you hvae autostart, and you pull the ebrake and put it in gear to park it.. the alarm will see it's in gear and the engine will shut off once you pull the key.

Of course, because you haven't done the ready process, even if you press the remote start the remote will chirp back at you and will not engage the starter

it's a very good alarm system and Myself and a quite a few of my friends have used it.
Granted, I used it on an auto before, but 2 of my buddies have the same compustar on a 5speed mazda 5 and a 5 speed civic SI.

I just bought a python 990 alarm remote start for my 07 gt. I bought a 689m (neutral safety bypass) for $100 thru Directed electronics. Basically it sets up the car when you get out like Treatz said above. Our cars do not have a neutral safety switch like some other cars do, so the bypass is necessary. Better safe than sorry.
