Ok So i bought 2 10s comp vr's (entry level ****) i know. wow it was a b!tch getting them in the trunck. now that they are there how do you all place your subs.
I have 2 seperate 10 boxesi noticed yesterday that my bass was alot louder than it had ever been and was hitting alot harder
when i opened the trunk to check to see how they had slid and why it was working i noticed only one was firing.
the second sub got disconected inside the box.
when i hooked it back up my bass dropped now my amp is turned real low as well because the lead we got comming out of the stereo was real hot.

now there are 2 reaons i could come up with for this problem 1 not enough power or they are cancleing each other.

right now i have them pointed up at the roof of the trunk.
i had them angled in and it they were killing each other.

anyway long story short how do you all have your subs positioned.

 

prolly a little of both. What amplifier? what size wiring? maybe you would be better off with one CVR 10 ported?

 

You said one came disconnected in the box. If you hooked the wires up backwards that would cancel them

 

ya they were wired out of phase that just means you have 1 sub with the - and + switched around.

 

They are still hitting i just am not hearing it as loud and it doesnt feel as hard

 

can you face the subs to the rear?I would also check your speaker wires like sinister and melectrok said

 

The mach system is so invasive that it makes it damn near impossible to position the subs to the rear.
I will mess with it a bit tonight.
i will check the gauge of the wires to see what it is.
the guys at circuit city installed the amp and put the speakers in the boxes.

wow this thing hits almost to hard now

 

wait till you get some really good subs in there then youll notice a huge difference

 

next step is a head unit and rip the mach system out.
