Default Problem with box?

How exactly did ya'll manage to fit your subs in the trunk of a mustang? Considering the limited amount of space in them. That's the tiny problem i'm having now, i've got 2 12" subs and not exactly sure how to get them into my trunk?

have a box built or build your own...check mine out on cardomain....it CAN be done (although i have 2 10s)....kicker's demo GT had a 18" solo baric in it.....look around there are pre-made boxes that will fit if you don't want to spend extra cash on custom box or build your own

With my old box I had to take the spare tire out to get it in, you can get a custom made box like laserreds his looks awesome!!! I custom made mine too not like his but I made a box that would work I wish i woulda done it like laserreds, laserred how much did it cost you to have that box made? if you dont mind me asking cuz that looks sweet an it looks like you still managed to keep some trunk space...

yea and they modified the spare tire cover for me so that i still have access to the spare...honestly not sure how much it cost...i was factored into installation costs when i had everything installed....i had it done at soundinnovations in hayward....they can do one for you too....again not sure how much it cost sorry...but i also had them fab up a trim piece carpeted mdf to flush in the box...i do have quite a bit of trunk space all things considered but i really need some grills for the subs so i actually CAN put stuff back there...sucks cuz elsewhere in the world Alpine offers grills for their subs but not here and i dont like the generic/ricerish chrome grills out there....so for now i just put everything in the back seat lol but yea i have a link to sound innovations on my car domain...you can email ernie (shop owner) he has a link to his email on the site...just ask him about a box for a mustang and you want to keep the spare tire access...he'll probably remember me....i email him about once a month with questions.....

i want to redo the way my amps are mounted tho....make em look nicer and cover up all the exposed wiring

btw your kickers require more volume than my alpines....i believe....so you would most likely need that bigger box...still a clean set-up though...really like how clean the back of the box is..mine looks like a mess right now...but thanks for the compliments.......

Hey Laser I just looked at your Domain thing. Thats nice man. Trunk looks really clean. I seen you said you wanted to clean up the wires and amps and stuff. Good idea but I myself always say as long as it functions right and is maintenence free... Who cares.

Don't know if you'll understand what I mean by this or not but.... Make an overlay (board with the exact shape of your amps and caps cut-out of it, carpet in then push it as far up against the amps and edges of caps as best you can tuck away as much wire)
Then make something that looks factory that has the same cutout as the hole to your trunk from the backseat and have that be plexi so you can see only the caps and amps lite up.

P.S. Some people are anti-neon around here, im not I like interior lighting just my opinion though. Get one like 20 inch red neon and put it just below where your brake-light would be if you had a normal car (center, bottom of back window) but inside your trunk, so it lights up your whole trunk and you woofers. You know where I mean right? I installed like 15 neons inside my friends 94 yellow GT. we had 2-15" red ones in the trunk where im talking about above his 15" Cerwin and it looks really nice. Plus all the ones on the inside, with his windows blacked out and when he's driving down the road at night with his windows partially open red light pours out of the windows, looks real evil like.

yea i get whatcha mean...very much what i had in mind....thanks for the compliments....i will eventually build the overlay...as for neon i'm actually undecided...i think it looks clean on SOME cars...i think it would look better if i had a fiberglass box...reflect the light better....i've never worked with plexi though....i originally wanted an all plexi box with mirrors and neon but as you know i already spent too much money on my system lol....i was thinking about building another box though since i have the EXACT dimension from my current box....where can i get that amount of plexi and how do i cut/shape it?....i think first i would just do the plain carpet/mdf overlay....stay with that for a while because i dont go to too many shows and rarely am i showing off my amps....but we'll see....so any suggestions on how to build with plexi?

also the neon where you said wouldn't light up everything because my trim panel goes all the way up to the top of the trunk...but might do one of the big ones on each side of the panel (one for subs one for amps on other side)....how do you wire up the neons to pulse with the bass?

I said I like interior lighting, not lights that pulse with the bass. I said nothing of that sort. If you really want to know you have to buy them with that box that has a mic and process the sound levels around you and create the neons lighting up effect. My opinion here, your neons beating to your music is gay. People catch enough crap for having neons period. I think the pulsing to the music would get death threats.

haha....i see......i dunno...i think i would only do neons if i really wanted to show the car....other than that i think its kinda useless as the amps and caps have their own backlit displays....i think those behind the plexi would be enough for me....
