Problems with new stereo...
Well I just installed a new head unit in my 5.0 and I got everything to work perfectly except for the passenger side front speaker. I think that I may have shorted one of the wires out when a few of them touched and the speaker made a funny noise lol. I know that the speaker isn't blown though. Should I just get about 10 ft. of speaker wire and run the new wire from the head unit to it. I think it's about the only thing that I can do. Oh, and another question, I've got two brand new infiniti 6x9 references sitting in two boxes, I can't remember the exact model number. At low volume they sound beautiful, but at high volume they distort pretty bad. Would an amp fix this?
It will sound better with a amp but you can try to knock all the bass out of your radio "turn the bass down, bass boost off or can possibly be your crossover settings if your h/u has one" Your radio's outputs might be gone if you shorted it out but try to run the wire like you said. You can just connect the speaker to the h/u wiring harness and see if it works instead of running the wire.Hope this helps some and good luck
Well I ran new wires to it and it works good, I think that I damaged the speaker though because it sounds kind of tinny. I'll get new speakers sometime though for the front.
