I believe it is only for a DVD player. That's what I have seen around the forum.

The P.I.E frd04 adapter will convert it to phono plug inserts. From there you can plug in just about anything.
I wanted a cleaner look, so I hooked up a 1/8 stereo plug to the phono plugs and mounted it on my dash. I can plug in a mp3 player, audio from a portsble dvd player, or even a xm-to-go portable...basically ANYTHING that has a headphone output.
Check out the picture below and you should see the input just to the right of the stereo.
