Default car alarm suggestions

I have a 06 GT with the factory theft deterent system but I feel that might not be enough. Anyone here have any suggestions for any aftermarket systems?

Do any of those alarms have "pager" features to them that will alert you when your vehicle is being moved or tampered with?

I just purchased a Viper 791XV alarm with remote start system. Out the door it was $725.00, including install and all parts needed. Am getting it done this Friday. I have a rag top, so i got the proxy sensor too which was a $100.00 add-on that you might not need.

Heres a simple link for the product description i found off the web real quick: http://www.drdetailshop.com/V791XV.htm

You can buy this system at Best Buy in my area, but i got it at the local mobile audio store as i know the shop manager there. Will post some feedback after i get it Friday.

I wouldn't really recommend BBY for alarms. They are paid to crank em out as fast as possible and get a bonus fer gettin them out the door quick. That is ok(but not great) for decks amps and speakers, but you should never rush an alarm.......... Scope out your install shops and see how they do their alarms. Do they use t-taps(NEVER!), crimps(good) or solder(best!)? Do they take the time to make sure the brain and siren and wiring is hidden? The 791 is a great alarm with paging functions and a solid performer but a great alarm installed by a hack-shack shop is not a great alarm and the factory alarm would be better. Poorly installed alarms can leave the alarm vulnerable, possably kill the car, or worse cause significant damage to critical pieces of the vehicle(door locks, ignition wires) that are not easy or cheap to fix.................

i agree 100%, I was simply mentioning that BBY sells the alarm, you can install them yourself, or get a professional shop to install it. I bought the alarm at the local best buy, but having a local professional shop install it for me. I know the guy that is the shop manager at the pro shop too, so i trust him alot more than the teens who are doing the installs at best buy.

I do not recommend getting a alarm installed at a best buy, or such shops at all. For reasons ttocs said perfectly.
