Default Scratched CDs

I have noticed that many of my new cds are skipping after only playing a given song once or twice. My friend suggested that it may have something to do with turning the volume up. Could an increase in the volume cause these skips to my cds?

Default RE: Scratched CDs

no. if the cd looks scratched then your lense or something is scratching the cd internally, but if it looks clean, then your deck is just getting ready to choke.
