My 2002 has a MACH MP3 head unit.

Is that the same as a MACH 460?

I'd like to updrade the sytem - speakers, sub woofer and amps if necessary.

Does the MACH MP3 have preamp outs?

Any help on this subject is greatly appreciated.

 

No there are no preamp outs on any of the Mack headunits. I really hate to say it but I would just get rid of the whole thing (maybe keep the tweeters) and go with aftermarket everything. If you try and get a aftermarket head and keep the stock amps its just not worth it. Get a nice pioneer head unit, the DEH-940mp (might be missing a "p" somewhere in that...its the 940 premere unit) is very nice and it has a built in 4x50w RMS and very low THD (like 0.008% or something like that) and 6.5volt pre-amp outs. Just take a llok at the specs on it...you'll be hard pressed to find better. Hope that helps. if you have any questions about the rest of the system just let me know.
