Default New rear deck speakers

I went to put in some polk speakers in the rear deck and no sound what so ever. What can I do before i take them back to circuitcity? The only thing that I can think of is unplug both factory amps wire the new speaker to with the connector then hook back in the factory amps.

check fuses to see if the amp fuse could have blown.

Hook the factory speakers back up. If they work the factory speakers are bad or incompatble, If they dont then you have issues beside the speakers.

I would look for the fuses in the manual, I am sure they cover it in there. Check all the fuses as often there maybe a componant fused on a different circuit.

Well I dont have a manual for this but is there a fuse for the rear amps that would make the new speakers not work?

it is possable. I don't remember what the impedence is for the factory rear speakers. If the impedence of the new speakers is lower then old ones the amp would run hotter and could have blown a fuse or just blown the amp.

I believe there is one fusebox under the drivers side dash, and another under the hood by the battery.

If you are unsure of your new speakers, find a home stereo to hook them too for a quick testing. I know they are different Ohms than home speakers but for a quick test just to see if they work, it wont make a difference.
