Thanks for the info, this one helps explain the colors. Any thoughts on the above plan or just wait till tommorow and call the company I ordered the wireharness from and have them send the missing sub connection?

Crutchfield said no, but that doesn't mean you won't find it possibily at a local shop.

I also picked up the voltage regulator to eliminate the popping sound that was mentioned as a fix earlier in this thread.

I'm in the process of installing a new hu, and had a question about the 5v voltage regulator which was picked up at Radio Shack.

Steps to take.

Ground the middle pin, to chasis
Input pin, tap into the blue wire on the stereo harness: Amp on or Antenna On
Output pin, tap into the both blue wires which are on the connections to the right of the wireharness in pic below?

I'm in the process of having one of these sent since it was missing in original shipment.

Thanks

Out of curiosity, how did you hook up the amp? Did you have any issues with a "thumping" sound through subs during power on?
I hooked my Eclipse head unit to the factory sub amps and have no thumping problem. On advice from here, I hooked a 5V voltage regulator from eclipse amp-on wire to the factory sub wire. I never tried it without the voltage regulator so I don't know if it made a difference. I also put in some in-line 70hz low pass crossovers to keep the high range out of the subs.

Nice Upgrade!

I also came across this on another forum, might be second option?

just a FYI for anyone that has to deal with one of these cars, a potential problem when installing an aftermarket deck. the subs in the doors both have amps in the drivers kickpanel. metra makes a harness to adapt to these, i believe it is a 70-5521. the 2nd plug in there goes to the factory sub/amps. don't know how common it is, the lincoln mark LT worked just fine plug and play. the mustang shaker 500, the subs would pop badly when you turn the car on, or the deck on. i put a 5.6k resistor inline with the remote turn on lead going into the factory harness, and the pop was eliminated. i guess it was just too much voltage kicking on the factory amps, and caused a bad pop.

Doesn't that kenwood play mp3's? Just burn your own mp3 cds with over 100 songs on them, then you don't need a changer.

Ok, finally got the sub connection harness from Crutchfield, where are those of you connecting the blue/white -amplifier turn on wires?
