my ipod did the same thing except mine only did it once then it froze and chrased so i sent mine off to apple and got a new one.but mine runs off of a 1.1USB port and works fine.plus my laptop is outdated so it might have somthing to do wit your comp.i would redownload all the software.

 

what size gb is your ipod I downloaded the update and screwed up my 20gb freezes all the time, shuts down all bye itself, 270.00 dollars to fix, $287.00 to buy new.
Now i know how the rich stay rich.

 

honestly ipods are overrated hunks of junk. especially if you have the original harddrive versions. you drop them too hard or shake em and their broken. they can only take like 500 battery charged and then you need to send it in to get a new battery installed which ends up costing 100 plus dollars. I say ditch the ipod and go for another type of player. They arent even mp3 players. THey encode the music in the aac format and that aloows it to only be played on your player unless you convert it back.

There are alot of better players out there id say go out and get one.

 

That sounds like ther direction I'm heading. Cause I re-downloaded and re-installed the original software and the ipod is stuck , it wont do anything. It pi**es me off. Oh and to the guy about this being a mustang forum, This is for my mustang, in case you didn't see my picture!
