Default Hardwiring RD, NEED POWER

Hey guys I have an 06 GT and Im in the process of trying to hardwire my radar detector in because I hate the huge cord hanging down. Ive heard of using the dome lights as power but the fact that my hardwire kit doesnt have a long enough wire scratches that. So Im looking for something under the dash to tap into, preferably the radio or something of that nature as it is on the power delay function. Any help or ideas? Thanks

Honestly... I have no idea where the power wire for that is. When I look behind the dash all I can see is a bunch of huge bundles of wires.. no way to really what wires are going what

Check out this post on hard wiring a radar detector!

I used that as a guide to hardwire my own. I have an 06 GT Vert. I well documented this with photos. I left my camera at a buddies house. I can post some pics by the weekend for this. It was pretty easy! I photographed each step. Very clean install!

Yeah I saw that post and was thinking about doing that, unfortunately I tried and the power wire that I was given with the kit isnt long enough and I would rather not have to splice, and keep it cleaner, if I dont have to. Unfortunately I think I am going to have to just splice some and be done with it. Thanks
