Hook up a switch.
Flip it on when you want to BOOM.

Did this in my daily driver. I hooked it up to the Ignition wire for the radio just spliced it into the factory cable. I am going to install a switch here in a lil while so I can turn it off when kids are in the car with me.

if i remember right there's a blue wire behind the H/U that you can use as the turn on lead , just use a tester to make sure

That is usually the case on an aftermarket HU but as for a factory HU you will have to splice into the ignition wire.

Well the bold font got my attention but unfortunatly i don't know what to tell you. I had a problem with mine when i hooked it up to factory HU the first time i turned it on just had a steady tone on it but i pulled the sensor cable and put it back on and it works fine.....................as far as inputs on my set up i spliced a set of RCA's into my rear speaker wires. How do you have your input to the amp set up?
