I am trying to put in a high low adaptor so i can add a amp. There are 2 sets going in to the rear speakers. from the factory amps, red, red w/ white stripe- black, black w/ white stripe. which is positive-negative?

hey bet that helps.....

what year is the car? If you can see where the wires connect to the speaker at the hrns, you can disconnect the hrns and make a reference to where the clip is on the hrns. Pick one side as pos, and one side as neg and make sure you do the same on the other side.

Get a digital mulimeter, set it to DCvolts, disconnect the speaker, plug the meter into the connecter. What you are looking for is a "-" on your meters display indicating if you have the correct polarity. If there is no "-" shown then your pos is which ever is connected to the red lead and neg to the black. You can verify by swaping the leads and a "-" should appear.

AHHHH nice reply backinblack06 made me laugh.
