Help me wire my system! Well answer some questions...
Okay so I was running a system in my foxbody before and I would like to transfer most over to my 94. I have taken out the headunit, radio and CD player. Before I was running a 4-channel amp for the 4 speakers, and a 2 channel for the woofers. I have a high output headunit so I must have amps to play anything. Now following along with the Mach 460 system, I wanted to get some tweeters or use the existing ones. I was wondering if they wire in just like speakers. If so, does this mean I have to get 2 more channels (either 2 4chan amps or a 6 and a 2) or can I wire it with one of the sets of speakers (and cheat a little) I heard that this 460 system is crazy to get around but are the wires special ford only stuff or can i just cut and wire them in. Please help me here. I'm trying to do the install tomm since ive now taken the headunit out n have to radio. Thanks
I have aa 94 as well, the mach is easily bypassed. Check page 2 on my cardomain page. by "high output head unit" do you mean that it is a passive unit that has no onboard amplification? If that is the case you will need an amp to run the tweets, you can probably use the 4 channel amp to drive them.
you can, I actually used two. The problem with wiring into the mach system is the way it is tuned. If you wire into the factory amps and do not use the bypass hrns that I show, the mids and highs will be maxed out and sound like crap when the sub is starting to get warmed up. Also by running a higher power input from an aftermarket deck you run the risk of blowing the amps inputs.
"yeah thats wut i mean, can i just cheat a lil n run a set of speakers and the tweets out of the same channel?"
yes.
