SPEAKER QUESTION??
I like anything Pioneer, had good luck with them in the past. Mine have always run through an amp and it makes a big difference in clarity IMO. But anyway i would say you can't go wrong with some nice Pioneers, I actually am planning on buying some Pioneer 6X8 3 way's tonight and if I get everything done I'll let you know how they sound
Will do...just for a little more info this is my plan.....I think I'm going to go with Pioneer TS-A6870R 3way speakers which from what I've gathered are basically a little bit older version then the TS-A6871R that are out in stores like Best Buy right now. When comparing them it seems that the only difference is basically that they are made out of a slightly different material and the frequency is a little higher on the newer ones. But since I am planning on doing my front speakers with a component system eventually, I figured I'll go to Wal Mart and buy the older version for about 30 bucks cheaper and they'll basically sound exactly the same.
As far as amps go I've tried a lot of different setups, I first started out with an old Lanzar Vibe amp that I was given by a friend which actually worked quite well with my 6X8's. I was very surprised because Lanzar is not known really as a "high quality" amp. Then I tried a Rockford 250 watt amp and I can't remember the number exactly but it doesn't matter cause it sounded like crap. I've decided Rockford Amps should stick with subs. I am currently using a US Acoustics USX2100 Amp and I absolutely love it. It makes even the stock speakers very clear and is perfect for a setup like I have. I would recommend it very highly, and it is also an older version that can probably be come across for a very low price because the company has come out with 3 or 4 newer versions since then I believe. Sorry for such a long post but I thought maybe this would help get you headed in the right direction....I'll let you know how it sounds when it all comes together.

to help your speaker buying decisions, look for a speaker that has a high sensativity rating. This will mean that the speaker is more efficient and does not require as much power to drive. I am running alpine s-type speakers. Their sensativity rating is about 92 or 93 (off the top of my head). if you are interested in upgrading speakers without needing to run a 4 channel or something, thats what i would suggest. everyone has their own opinions as far as brand name and stuff, but look over the specs as well, because that makes a difference on the performance of the speaker. good luck!
Hey man, got it done last night and they sound awesome...I have to do a little more work tuning it and setting the amp to where I like it but they are very clear and sound great! Only problem is now the stock front speakers sound like crap so they'll have to go soon
