Default Advice/opinions/suggestions

Hello all. I have a 1998 Ford Mustang. I'm just now starting to modify everything little by little but I had a question regarding where I want to go with my stereo system. I'm not much of "bass" kind of guy. Don't really listen to hip/hop, rap, r&b, etc. I listen to mostly rock/hard rock/metal. I was thinking about going with a Pioneer indash dvd/cd player with monitor. Now, should I just replaced the stock speakers in the car with good pioneer speakers or can I/should I install a small amp with maybe a bazooka tube speaker? Again, not into the booming bass sounds but wouldn't mind a tight sound that also accentuates the drums in the song especially the kick drum. What do you guys think?

Default RE: Advice/opinions/suggestions

a couple of 8's or no bigger than a single 10 for nice tight bass. jl or kicker L7. no big boom in my car just clear, crisp sound. anything bigger than a 10, it doesn't bounce back for that double bass, cookie monster music [:@] you need a smaller sub for the rigidness to bring it back. as far as the mids and highs go to a local shop and listen to some. i like jl's or infinity's. pioneer makes a great deck but i would stay away from their speakers. hope this helps for my opinions sake. pretty much what you like, but you have to go listen to different systems, be it on the street or in different shops.
