factory GPS
Hello, I just got my frist new mustang ( 2006 ). I love the car! It only has the single disk radio. I would love to have GPS in the car. How hard would it be to use an gps from a ford or lincoln. Like the big SUV gps system. Will it fit also would it wire up at all? I have saw a few on ebay ( used ) With the nav disk and raido for around 300.00 to 450.00. I would not mind to do a system like that. I just love the factory look of the units. Is this insane? has anyone done this before? Should I stop whinning about the cash and buy an avic-d2? open to any and all idea's. By the way I work as a computer repair tech. Also I love to play in car audio. So not really a newbee LOL.
Thanks,
Mlt2

I've thought about this before as well. The dash opening is the same size. I'm not sure what is involved with converting my Shaker 1000 to use something out of a Lincoln Zephyr, but I would imagine you'd need the head unit, GPS computer, Antenna and the associated connectors between the headunit, GPS computer and antenna. I would think the power and speaker wires would be the same. I'm curious as to pricing. Any Ford service techs out there that can lend some insight?
