Default General recommendations for audio system... ('06)

Hey all, first post!

Just would like some recommendations for my audio system that I'm going to buy. I've not bought a HU since high school so I'm catching up on all that is out there and available. Right now I've got the stock single CD player and 4-speakers.

Here's what I'm thinking about"

HU: I'd like to get a double din HU. I like the idea of an in-dash 6-disk CD changer but I haven't been able to find very many. I also would like something with the 6.5" screen and I think those touch screens are awesome. I'm not real particular on brand. I'd like something that can play mp3/wma. Doesn't have to be able to read or play DVD's. I'd also like something I can easily plug my Creative Zen VisonM mp3 player into so I'd like an aux port preferably on the front. I don't need navigation or satellite radio or any other extras.

Speakers. I only want to replace the stock 4 speakers. I don't need a subwoofer or anything. However, should I get components up front and 2-ways in the back or just do 2-way's all around? Can I run these speakers off the HU or should I go ahead and get an amp for them? If I should get an amp, how much power would suffice?

I'd like to only pay $500 for HU but could maybe go up to $750. Speakers I could spend $200-300 on. And I'll probably buy off eBay to save money. Let's say a total of $1k for the whole thing.

Suggestions?

You'll get better sound quality with stock speakers but a 4 channel amplifier. Factory radios only put out about 7w, and any aftermarket HU will only put out 15-20w. Higher volumes = distortion.

Get a decent 4 chan amp, that does 60w x 4 and you'll be much happier.

GO with a good focal, rainbow, or cdl comp set. DO NOT get any speakers for the back. With a good comp set they are redundant. You might as well just send the money you spend on the back set to me. I have a friend who would sell an avic-n1 for $800. It does a little more than what you wanted though.
