Default 1996 Gt Conv. upgrades

Hi I'm new to these forums hope it goes well.

Anyways I have a 96 GT Convertible that does not have the mach audio system. I was wondering what size speakers it needs so I can upgrade them as well as how do I remove the front and rear speaker covers, do the front ones require that I take off the whole door trim? Thanks for any help.

5x7/6x8 speakers, prolly have to take the door panels off to get to the speakers.

the front doors do have to come off and I am sorry to say that could be the easy part. Take a look at the rear speakers from the bottom, inside the trunk. If you see the bottom of the screws holding them down then they are top mounted. This means that EVERY piece of plastic from the b-pillars back will have to come out/off before you can take the 4 screws out holding the speaker down. They were the 1rst thing put in the car, before the window as well as the rest of the interior.....
