2006 Speaker Replacement Suggestions
Hey guys, bought a silver 06 V6 stang yesterday, has the stock stereo in it, no shaker system. My question is, what would be the best route as far as replacing the stock speakers with some compoents. I have a pioneer DEH-P770MP HU currently. Will I need a 4 channel amp also? My budget is about 600 bucks. Thanks!@!

You planning on putting in subs? If so then depending on the music you listen to will depend on wattage and amps you need.
For rap or very bassy music it is always best to have more wattage on the subs then on the regular speakers. For me i listen to rock, metal etc.. so i like it nice and even and go 760 watts for the highs and 800 watts for the lows. I have two sony amps, a 2 channel and a 4 channel. This system works out very well, i usually drive two 10 inch subs and have four speakers. I havent hooked up anything in my new stang yet as i am waiting for crutchfield to have stuff for 2007. With the changing of the shaker (2007 has aux input) i am hoping they come out with a harness that will still let me use the input in the console.
Now if you just plan on putting a amp to four speakers, then of course you just need a one amp. However there are so many combinations it is unreal, but basically for 4 speakers and subs it is usually best to get two amps.
