Default headunit install on an 86 GT

Right now, I have the old one out of the car and I have power to the new one. What I don't have is anything coming out of the speakers. Is there anything I should be looking for when it comes to this car. This isn't my first headunit so I kinda have an idea on how this works. It said it was a premium sound system on the headunit if that helps anything. Thanks for the help.

It's been a while since i did my 93 fox with premium sound. To kind of point you in the right direction there was a common ground wire on mine to which both rear speakers spliced in with to make them come on. I had the same problem you do... all I did to get mine to work properly: Put the head unit to rear left so only music is sending to the rear left output. Take the leads out of the head unit and try wire by wire from Ford harness until that speaker comes on. Repeat for right side. Hope this helps. I no longer have the fox or I would go take a look and tell you exactly what I did.

look at where your two hrns's connect and see if you can count how many ground signal wires are on the factory side, but like he said it is probably a common ground system. You can trace the grounds to where they are common(either right behind the hrns in the dash or I thought in the kick panels?) or f worse comes to worse just run new wires to the speakers.
