I was thinking about getting this Alpine HU (CDA-9857) but i read somewhere something about like an extra thing needed to be bought for it. I dont know what this guy was talkin about but has anyone else ran into this?

you need to buy a Ipod cable to use full speed ipod. and a wire harness to install it

 

get it from crutchfield.com...they come with the harness and everything you need plus instructions and free shipping...all those extras are free if you a buy a radio from them...and then the ipod connector is only 30 extra bucks...i installed a 9856 in my friends corolla...it is really nice...only reason i havent upgraded my 9835 from 3 years ago is my buttons change color and i have them matching the rest of my interior...and my older one had higher pre-volts to the amps..not really a big deal for you if you're just getting the radio

 

I love my 9857, it rocks mang....

 

its $350 on crutchfield but I can get it on Ebay for $290. Anyone suggest against going with the cheaper one?

that is hard to say. Is the $60 worth the 1 yr warrenty to you?
