Default Just bought a new stereo system

Hello,

I just bought a Pioneer in dash DVD player, Sony mono amp, and 2 Fosgate 10s and plan on installing them tomorrow. But before I start, I saw that many people are running into problems. My 01 Cobra has the Mach 460 speakers. Can I install the Pioneer head unit to the Mach 460 speakers and wire the Sony amp/Fosgate subs to the Pioneer head unit as well without any problems? Thanks,

-Matt

shouldnt have a problem but theres always instances where different brands cause problems. It didnt create any problems to my system when i put in my new stuff to the 460 so i think youll be fine. Good luck with it.

I had to get these little converter boxes for both the subs and the head unit. They run about 50 bucks but make it sound so much omore beautiful. The boxes have to do with data for the spaekers ive heard

your speakers are run off the amps with different outputs for the different speakers (highs/lows/mid) so that means that it would be much better for you if you to just buy new speakers too... otherwise you're asking for more trouble than it's worth... even if you start with walmart specials just to get speakers in... and then save up for good components.

Well, Im already running into trouble. I haven't hooked my subs and amp up yet, but i'm working on hooking up the head unit. I can't seem to find any place that carries a wiring harness for a 2001 mustang with the Mach 460 sound system. Anyone got any ideas? I've been to 2 different audio shops and Wal-Mart. wal-mart had the wiring harness for the 1996-2000 Mustang with Mach sound system... not the 01!

don't think it was different... but I never use wiring harnesses... don't trust those plugs... www.installdoctor.com will help you out if you need it.
