Default system compatibility with mach 460

I have the mach 460 system, and one of my friends told me today that if I wanted to get a new system such as some subs, an amp, speakers n what not, then if I check somewhere and it has a sticker that says "premium sound system" or "premium" then a shop might have to change some stuff around, or do some extra work to have it installed. He said that goes for all cars. If its "premium" then they have to do some extra stuff to it to make it sound good... whats this all about??

Also, will an aftermarket head unit be able to fit into a mach 460 system unit? I have the 6 CD changer, no cassette.

Thanks everyone!
