Default New speakers

Hello.

I got a mach 460 system...but the thing is I'm pretty sure a kid owned my car before because half the speakers sound like they are blown! And I just noticed the other day they pulled the facory amps out to. [:@]

Getting a headunit in tomarro and I'm pretty sure Im going to go with MTX 6X9s in rear, MTX tweeters by the window....

And what should I do about the fron speakers, I hear 6X9 can fit but I'm wanting to go a little smaller. WHat do you all suggest?

I hope you upgrade the HU and amplify the speakers with an aftermarket amp.

Buy 6.5's instead of 6x9's. In general, they sound better. Not make more bass, sound better. WIth proper front speakers there is no need for rear speakers.

I bought adapter plates so I could fit 5.25 inch components all the way around. They are 2-way TMA speakers and they sound great! I replaced the stock tweeters in their factory location with the nice dome ones and in the 6x8 locations I have the 5.25 solid midranges with no tweeters in them. I dont like the ones that have tweeters in the middle of them. Then, I installed the crossover in the trunk. i love it when people say "Man thats a nice sounding factory stereo!"

you can easily fit a 6.5 in a 5 x 7 hole with a baffle.

Check out page 2 on my signature for what I did to get around/integrate into the 460. It doesn't have to be that hard.
