Default sub wont work

the sub in my car all of the sudden stopped working the other day while my friend was driving my car. I checked all of the connections and the wierdest part is it doesn't even move the sub. I am so confused.

please list all the equipment in the car, is this the stock subs or aftermarket? Do the amps turn on and light up?

I checked all of the connections: ground, remote, speaker, fuse is good and I opened the sub box; those connections are good. The amp powers up just fine, but the sub has no hint of a vibration.

My equipment: Sony HU, Rockford Fosgate 300Watt? amp, RF 12" Punch P1 sub.

If there is anything else you need me to tell you let me know. Thanks

edit:forgot to add that I have all of the little bypass boxes and everything worked fine for about a year up until 4 days ago

You check under the hood and make sure where your 12 Volt wire is connected at the battery isn't corroded over. It happened to me once. Everything lit up and tested good, but the connection on the battery was so corroded, no real power could get to the sub (hence why it wouldn't work). A good cleaning with a wire brush would fix this for you.

You need to get a DMM and check the resistance of the voice coils. Sounds like you may have blown the sub. Do you have any other subs or speakers for that matter to check the output on ur amp? Could try that, or find someone else w/ a system and test the sub on their amp.

I checked it and I also checked the connection in the back of the radio. Is there a chance I blew the amp? Ive always had it on the lowest gain and it is only about a year old. RF 2002 I stumped and Im very close to completely rewiring the car.
