Default Amp Wiring

Does anyone know if the signal wire that reaches from the amp to the back of your cd player have to be a certain size? My power keeps cutting out on me when i turn the volume up to high, is that wire just not large enough? Its very thin and actually attatched to my Rockford Fosgate wires, it came like that in the wiring kit i bought.

That is the remote wire. It should be just fine. I would check all of you grounding locations for good grounds (needs to be grounded to bare metal). Also check your voltage when it cuts out. Some amps are very temperamental with voltage going too low and shut off.

Sounds like you have your amp bridged into an ohm load that your speakers cannot handle...

Just a thought

Thats what i'm thinking. If not that maybe your alternators going out. or your power wire is too small. i would need to know specifics of your wiring though to really say.
