Get the valentine one. Radar detectors are truely something that you get what you pay for. If you gonna spend $300 on a detector, might as well get the top of the line and spend $400 on the V1.
Deffinitly if your going to spend your money on a radar detector get the Valentine One. My uncle has bought atleast a dozen different types, all the top models. He has the Valentine One and he found that thats the best one... and that thing is awesome, I wish I could get one but they are illegal where I am. Hes got a Porsche 911 and he bombs around everywhere and hasnt gotten a ticket yet.

I've had most of the major brands and the best i've owned so far is the Valentine One..The directional signal is great but the best feature is it tells you how many signals there are. When i was cruising up I95 i passed a state trooper in the trees but my V1 said 2 signals so i knew another cop was close by and 1/4 mile down the road was another trooper in the weeds waiting. I have them in all 3 of my cars with my original being over 10 years old and working perfect.

I've had the same cheapo Whistler that I got for like 75 or 80 bucks 8 years ago, and it still works like a charm and saves my *** daily.

Save your money for a Valentine 1.The oter radar detectors will tell you there's a radar gun out there but they won't tell you where it is.This comes in very handy if the source is just a radar car sitting in a driveway while the cop is eating lunch.
The source counter is a definate lifesaver.I was about to get a ticket one night and happened to notice the number 2 in the display.I usually get a burglar alarm in that neighborhood but with only one source. This time there were two!!! I hit my brakes and just as I got slowed down to the speed limit the number two source lit up again. The directional arrows told me that the cop was behind a hedge with just the radar antenna showing above the shrubs. He was targeting future customers by waiting for their headlights to show through the bushes.Pretty slick but not slick enough for my mighty V1.

get that new phazer III - soon as I got the extra dough - im gettin one - rader laser detector and jammer!
Do not waste your money on this POS!!!
They do NOT jam radar or lasers.
Anything made my Rocky Mountain Radar company is not worth a dime.
A brick on your dash will do as well as that thing does.

If you want to learn more about radar detectors go to http://www.radardetector.net/
Come by and say hi, I am a moderator at this site.
I hate to see people spend hard earned money on something that does NOT work.

Remember no matter how good your radar detector is NONE of them are 100% reliable, but it does increase your odds of not getting a ticket.

CoolAid, please do other radar detector owners a favor and do not turn on your Cobra radar detectors, cobras leak so much interference they cause other detectors to go off and give false alerts.
Cobras are notorious for causing this problem, I can always tell if someone has a Cobra radar detector, it sets off my Valentine 1 with a K band alert.

jmmorgan82 be very careful with that old Whistler you are using, it may end up getting you caught one day.
Whistler makes a good budget radar detector but as old as that one is it's range and detection are poor by todays standards.

Like I said come by the forum and look around and see what is out there and what works and what does not.

I bought a whistler remote radar off of ebay for a little more then a $100 shipped. I molded it into where the clock is, page 3 of my sig shows it.

Valentine one is a great detector, but I don't know that I need to know where the cop is really. I don't care where he/she/it is, I'm still hitting the brake even if i was only doing the limit.

I install and have seen the K40 lazer diffuser work beautifully and I have seen them pay for tickets as well which they should for $1500..... I don't know that you need anything more then a $100-150 to be honest, like I said what is your first reaction.
