Default just replacing the front speakers

well on my 97 GT the front speakers buzz real bad with any amount of bass. The back speakers still have the nice low bass. Having broken up with my ex g/f twice (hopefully this is it for sure) I have blasted lots of mid bassy music through the stereo and killed the front speakers.

I don't really plan on doing any stereo upgrades except MAYBE subs later with a line output converter, but are there any speakers you'd reccomend I put on the front? I got a best buy gift card I was gonna put to good use on these as well. I don't want stock speakers, well, because those died with the stock setup... is there anything that would be a good step up but sound good with the factory stuff as well? And I have the mach stereo. These are 6X8 speakers correct?

Thanks!

Anyone? Any ideas? Slight alteration of plans, I now have $50 worth of Best Buy gift cards...

Any input on what speakers I should buy for the front doors, size, brand, etc that would be available at best buy?

I have read that getting 6.5 circular speakers for the front would sound better than getting 6X8s... everything else in my stereo works perfectly except these speakers are fried...

any input let me know, thank you!

George

6.5's will not sound different to be honest but will require you to make a baffle to mount it. As for what speaker sounds the best you really need to go and listen to them with some music you are familiar with, I/we can't tell you what sounds good for you. You do not want to buy the cheapest, and you probably do not need the best.

Sorry to hear you have to shop at best buy, I hate that place.

yea 6x8 is the right size, i got a best buy gift card for best buy too, but couldn't find any speakers that were under 50 bucks... at circuit city they had some jenson 6x8 that i got for only 40 bucks and they bump pretty hard when you crank it up.. i was going to get the sony xplods but they were sold out..

please can we not use such harshe bad language as "best buy" in the car audio forum? The words "Best Buy" and "car audio" belong in the same sentence as much as "teeth" and "*****"..................
