Default sub troubleshooting

I got an optima red for christmas. I installed it and a day later noticed that my sub (8W7 of a soundstream amp) wasn't working. Its not blown or anything, i could tap the inputs to make it hit.

My first thought wasthe amp wasn't getting power because i discoed the fuse between the amp and the battery. I was wrong. The amp is getting full power.

I checked all fuses in the engine bay but not in the cabin. I checked all connections between the sub and amp.

Could it be my HU (Alpine 9851)? I'll take it in to my audio shop but would rather not look like an idiot. I'll check the other fuses also before I go in. What could it be that I overlooked?

Check the connections on the wires to the actualy speaker inside the box. They may have come loose.

It's also possible that your amp is GETTING full power, but no longer putting it out. This could mean that you may have blown the power supply, or the rca outputs. First check ALL connections and if you're absolutely sure they're all hooked up right, take your amp down to a local audio shop and have them check the power supply.

And you're looking at spending $50 to repair that amp if it is broken.

I took it in and the gain was all the way at zero for some reason. That saved me an amp
