whats difference between 10in subs and 12in subs???
Get a couple 10" Punch P2's and a nice RF Punch Amplifier with matched wattages. Put them in a ported enclosure with the proper airspace and they'll be the "clearest" and best sounding system you'll ever hear.

Lol, thats a riot.
95% of people that type "lol" didn't actually laugh out loud.
I was just a part of that other 5%
You can place the slot just about wherever you want it.
It is more simple to place it on one of the sides of the front of the enclosure then inbetween the drivers.

in my 5.0 i only have 2 10" subs and it is way more then enough because its a hatch back, if there is anyone in the back seat i cant crank it, the bass is just to much

I have no experience with car subs, but I play bass and here is what I know about the speaker size: The smaller they are the higher pitched sound you are going to get, the most common size used is 10" speakers with a 4 string bass (most common). When going with 10" speakers they usually come in pairs. But another size speaker that is popular is the 15", which comes by itself and is used for a lower tone, which is combined with a five string bass.
So, to summarize what I am saying: Smaller speakers are for faster play and more versatile use. Larger speakers, in your case 12", is used more for rap which has low bass and usually hits for a longer time. If you are going to play rock, but still some rap, go with 10" subs. But if you play more rap than rock go with the larger size subs.

I'm not an expert, but I am pretty sure what I said is correct. But if you want to be more specific go what PReal and seight311 said.

The lowest and most "boom" I have ever heard a bass stack was an 8-10" cab. My 8-10" is far more capable of playing lower and louder than a 2-15" or 2-18" cab.
It all comes down to box design and speaker cone surface. With 8-10" speakers their is much more cone surface area than with 2 15" or 18" drivers. And theres quit a difference between a bass guitar setup and a car audio one. Aside from they both use speakers and amplifiers.

Well the note hit is also a factor, like hitting a high G won't sound the same as hitting a low B. I like to search Bass Songs on LimeWire and listen to them, you can have a junky system and with one of those playing it makes it sound like a good system. Typically in those songs they are hitting the lowest notes possible and ringing them for a long time. But you are right that the speaker does make the difference.
